Client: 20 NHS Critical Care Units
Project: Midas.Net Clinical Audit & Management Platform
The Challenge
NHS critical care units across multiple Trusts lacked a flexible and commercially supported platform for clinical auditing. Existing solutions were rigid, unable to adapt to evolving clinical needs without expensive and time-consuming redevelopment, which hindered collaboration and data consistency.
A Founder-Led Solution
Our founder, Jason Ratcliffe, identified this critical gap and single-handedly designed, developed, and commercialised the Midas.Net platform.
The core of the platform was a revolutionary, flexible architecture. Years ahead of the current trend, Jason implemented an ontology-driven design built on a graph network database. This innovative approach, based on semantic web principles, enabled clinicians to adapt clinical audit models themselves without requiring changes to the underlying code. He then personally managed the entire commercial rollout, successfully deploying the platform to 20 NHS sites.
The Outcome
The Midas.Net platform was a major commercial success, generating over £900,000 in additional revenue for the NHS Trust. The platform's innovative design enabled multiple Trusts and clinical specialities to collaborate on audits for the first time, leading to significant improvements in data quality, operational efficiency, and substantial cost savings.
